Professional Organizations

WHO IS MY CLIENT?
As we have already learned in the introduction to the ASPO Presentation, our modern world has many Americans overwhelmed and overloadedby their everyday life. The average American does not have the time that is needed to devote to keeping their home in its best organized condition.
In addition to the generally overwhelmed, there really is a broad spectrum of clients to serve including:
• Clients who may need help with one or two projects &
• Clients who will continually need assistance with organizing.
ASPO Organizing Rules:
1- Every item has a home
2-The Boat Rule
3- Knowing What To Keep
4- Managing Discards
5 - Maintaining
Discards can be managed by donating, selling, recycling or trashing.
6- Who’s In Charge of the home?
Organizing Principles:
Sort
Almost everything can be sorted by category including clothing, kitchen items, housewares, books, tools and crafts.
Purge
To help make organizing and purging go faster, create 5 piles:
• Keep
• Donate
• Sell
• Throwaway &
• “Perhaps”
Again, Discards can be managed by donating, selling, recycling or trashing.
